Antique Rose Emporium

We are spending Memorial Day Weekend in College Station. Last night we had dinner at Lupe Tortilla then walked around downtown Bryan, where Kevin and I took our engagement photos May 2009. This morning we went to the Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham. I've been thinking about putting some roses in the yard. They were out of the variety I wanted but I learned a lot about growing roses. Last time we were here Kevin and I had only been dating a month or two so the whole weekend has been a fun trip down memory lane. Next stop - lunch then Messina Hof for a wine tour and tasting.

Big girl cup

Allison has started experimenting with a big girl cup - no lid, no straw, lots of opportunity for a big mess. We give her one or two sips worth at a time since there's a 50% chance of it going down the front of her shirt. She's made some messes but she's learning.

Breakfast with daddy

Allison was up early this morning and shared some of Kevin's breakfast before he left for work - homemade granola with blueberries and milk. This was my first time making granola, turned out pretty well.

Birthday dinner

We just had a great dinner to celebrate my 30th birthday at Kirby's Steakhouse in Southlake. They even brought me a free dessert, it was so good! Now off to home depot to look at fixtures for the rent house then holding hands and walking around southlake towncenter.

Allison's first "graduation"

Today Allison had her last Birds class at Little Gym. Next week we move up to the Beasts class with kids up to two and half years old.

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend, started off Friday night having some friends over for dinner and a playdate at the park.  Saturday my parents brought over breakfast and then we took Allison to the zoo.  The weather was warmer than I would have liked (90+), but Allison didn't care.  Her favorites were the monkeys, the elephants and the penguins.  We then had a late lunch at Chuys for Cinco de Mayo where Allison attempted to drink the creamy jalapeno sauce through a straw - no chips needed for her!  Sunday we had church and a trip to REI.
