Taylor's first painting

Snow day - day 2.  This time without Kevin as he made it to the airport this morning.  

Taylor got to try painting for the first time this morning.  It's been hard to include Taylor in craft time because she puts all the crayons or markers in her mouth.  

Next up is bubble baths.  I think it's going to be a long day.  

Hockey Time

Saturday night we went with friends to the local minor league hockey game.  Between periods one of the entertainment activities was a kids tug-of-war.  Allison and about 50-60 other kids all got to go down on the ice and play a giant game of tug of war.  Im pretty sure Allison was the smallest one out there but she had so much fun.

Lemon cake

Allison and I made a lemon cake tonight, she loves helping me bake.  It turned out pretty good.  I think her favorite part was drizzling the glaze on top.  Of course she insisted on putting sprinkles on her slice. She didn't understand why I wouldn't let her sprinkle the entire cake.

Hair clips

Allison fixed her own hair today.  She's very proud of herself.

Parenting Success

Over the last several months we've been teaching Allison that we won't buy her toys just because during shopping trips.  If she asks for something we ask if she has enough money for it.  She gets a small allowance for good behavior and keeping her toys picked up.  She can also earn extra money by doing small chores around the house.

Today she decided to go shopping.  I hope her new toy is extra special because she paid for it herself with her own money.

Story time

Today I let Taylor go with Allison for story time just the two of them.  They did very well.  Such sweet girls.  

Taylor discovers ketchup

Who needs French fries when you have fingers.  Time to see if I can buy stock in my stain remover.
